Man United and Liverpool given boost in chase of Bundesliga ace

GundoganManchester United and Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have been drawn to the European papers this afternoon, which state the Premier League duo have received a huge boost in their transfer plans. Both Premier League sides have held long-term interest in the German midfielder, with United’s interest stretching back to this time last year and links with Liverpool intensifying after former Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp moved to Anfield.
However, Juventus’ potential stance in the market was a big issue but that problem has been erased, as the Italian side’s chief executive Giuseppe Marotta denied any interest in the midfielder when speaking to Bild:
“Gundogan is a name we have not mentioned in relation to the winter transfer market.I do not think Borussia Dortmund want to sell the player. Why should we rely on Gundogan, when we have midfielders such as Claudio Marchisio?”
That leaves United and Liverpool with a clear run in the market but they would still have to persuade Dortmund to part ways with the World Cup winner. Fortunately for them, our landlord believes the Bundesliga side would accept a sale for the right price.
