Spanish paper accept star will join Liverpool 'in coming days

As is always the way, the Andrea Ranocchia to Liverpool claims have become far less clean-cut and turned quite murky. It had started off as a choice between Torino, Liverpool and Norwich, explain Gazzetta dello Sport in their Friday newspaper edition, and the easy winner there was Jurgen Klopp's side.
Ranocchia had wanted to stay in Italy but the Torino opportunity wasn't incredibly exciting and wouldn't have come with competitive wages, at least relatively. Gazzetta dello Sport have explained that's all changed, with more clubs now interested, naming the Spanish pair of Sevilla and Valencia.
However, Seville regional newspaper Estadio Deportivo, who have good connections to the club, have given up. Taking the word of an Italian report that Ranocchia will be joining Liverpool 'in the coming days', they accept defeat.
The 'coming days' claim may well have been the case had it not been for other Italian interest. Tuttomercatoweb on Friday say Sky Italia have reported on a summit between the entourage of Ranocchia and Sampdoria.
Sampdoria may only be just above Torino in Serie A but are known to pay good wages, and who wouldn't want to live on the Ligurian coast?
The Spanish press may think he's off to Liverpool, but if Ranocchia is as keen on an Italy stay as has been suggested, then Sampdoria provides a reasonable option.
